The Heart Behind Hikma AI: Building a Sustainable Path to Understanding

Assalamu alaykum,

As the founder of Hikma AI, I wanted to share a little about the journey and the vision behind this app.

From the very beginning, our aim was to create a true companion for every seeker of authentic Islamic knowledge – a tool rooted in the Qur'an and Sunnah, helping us connect with the timeless wisdom and beauty of our faith beyond cultural distortions.

And most importantly, our intention is that Hikma AI becomes a form of Ṣadaqah Jāriyah – a continuous charity where every verse understood, every hadith studied, and every question answered becomes an ongoing source of reward, insha'Allah.

Why Bring AI Into Islam?

In this age, AI is being implemented across all industries and brands. Islam shouldn't be left behind. Why not use AI to spread dawah and make prophetic teachings more accessible, ultimately improving our lives?

With Hikma AI, our goal is to use this rapidly growing AI technology to spread prophetic teachings, make knowledge more accessible, and ultimately enrich our lives.

And there are a lot of apps Duolingo and Stronger that help us build habits, both in our learning journeys and in our workouts, to help us grow stronger.

Consistent engagement is key, which is why we've integrated habit-building features to support your daily journey.

Because knowing the truth is one step — but living it is where transformation happens.

Why Are We Charging for Hikma AI?

I hear this question often:

"Why should I pay for an Islamic app when the Qur'an is free?"

And honestly, I used to ask the same.

When I began building Hikma AI, my first instinct was to make it completely free. After all, Islamic knowledge should be accessible to everyone, right?

But then reality hit.

The Printing Press Analogy That Changed My Perspective

Think of it this way:

➡️ Handing someone a copy of the Qur'an? Beautiful and noble.

➡️ Building and running a printing press that prints Qur'ans for millions? That takes resources.

Offering Hikma AI for free would be like handing out one copy. A beautiful gesture, but limited in reach.

Building a sustainable platform, however, is like building the printing press.

It allows us to serve Muslims worldwide every single day - answering questions instantly, guiding a student in Malaysia, and at the very same time helping a revert in Michigan.

The reach multiplies far beyond what a single "free copy" could ever achieve.

What You're Really Paying For

When you subscribe to Hikma AI, you're not just buying an app. You're investing in:

Design & Development – Building, coding, and improving the app experience

Servers & APIs – Covering the heavy infrastructure and AI processing costs

Maintenance & Security – Fixes, updates, and keeping everything running smoothly

Marketing & Outreach – Helping Hikma AI reach Muslims globally so more people benefit

Sustainability – Ensuring this resource lasts for decades

And beyond that, 10% of all profits from Hikma AI will go directly to charity. This means your subscription not only sustains the app but also contributes to meaningful causes that support the Ummah. In this way, your support becomes both knowledge-driven and charity-driven.

The Bottom Line

Islamic knowledge has always needed investment.

Your masjid requests donations. Books have a price. Scholars dedicate their lives and need support.

This is no different. The only difference is the scale of impact.

When you support Hikma AI, you're making sure:

  • A mother in Indonesia can find guidance on Islamic parenting at midnight.
  • A new Muslim in Texas can learn directly from authentic sources without cultural noise.
  • Someone questioning faith discovers the beauty of Islam, not just a list of do's and don'ts.

A Personal Reflection

Through this journey, I realized something important about Ṣadaqah Jāriyah:

For it to truly last, it must be self-sustaining.

An app that depends only on donations may fade when funds dry up. But an app that sustains itself through its community can serve the Ummah for generations.

Your subscription isn't just unlocking features — it's unlocking ongoing impact.

May Allah accept this effort, count it as a source of guidance, and make Hikma AI a lasting form of Ṣadaqah Jāriyah for all of us. Ameen.

Barakallahu feekum,
